Matthew Deets of Wausau wears many hats, but he does more than wear them; he wears them with purpose. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Life and Financial Coach, and currently serves as the President and Director of Operations at Impact Training Center, LLC. In every role, his guiding belief remains the same: to help people take their next step forward. Whether offering support during difficult emotional experiences, coaching families to improve their financial situation, training professionals, or facilitating new business opportunities, his efforts reflect both care and competence in serving others.

Matthew grew up in the small town of Weyauwega, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school in 2006, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he majored in Psychology with an emphasis on human services. His commitment to learning and leadership was evident from an early age. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, earned several academic and departmental honors, and received the Chancellor's Leadership Award. Continuing his education, he earned a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. These achievements laid the foundation for a career centered on people and a desire to use his knowledge to create meaningful Impact.

Matthew’s professional journey began as a Residential Therapist with Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. His skills in leadership and clinical work soon earned him a promotion as Program Supervisor and Therapist for the Family Preservation Program in Marathon County. He later moved on to North Central Health Care, where he served as a Clinical Coordinator, before transitioning into private practice at Compass Counseling, LLC. Alongside these roles, he worked part-time at Peaceful Solutions, Elmergreen Associates, and Gateways Counseling Center. These diverse experiences sharpened his expertise in trauma-focused therapy and sex offender risk assessment and treatment, with clients ranging from juveniles to adults. His therapeutic approach draws from trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Brainspotting, and motivational interviewing, methods that enable him to meet individuals at their point of need and guide them toward sustainable growth.

In 2023, Matthew Deets of Wausau expanded his focus beyond the therapy room by training as a Financial Coach through Ramsey Solutions. He established his own business, MatthewjRPC, LLC, where he provides coaching for individuals, couples, and families. His work empowers people to take control of their financial lives in practical and transformative ways. Alongside his coaching practice, he volunteers by leading online Financial Peace University classes. His commitment extends further as he trains other Ramsey Preferred Coaches, particularly in areas like mental health and motivational interviewing. This unique combination of counseling and financial guidance offers a distinctive perspective in the coaching industry.

In January 2025, Matthew took on a leadership role as President and Director of Operations at Impact Training Center, LLC. This role brought together his experience in clinical practice, coaching, and leadership. At Impact, he leads a team dedicated to providing accessible and affordable professional training programs. His leadership style is rooted in practicality and collaboration, rather than authority, emphasizing systems that work efficiently and partnerships that prioritize people.

Beyond his professional contributions, Matthew is known for his quiet generosity and service. Over the years, he has supported a wide range of organizations, including World Vision, Compassion International, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the American Heart Association, Hope Life Pregnancy Center, Life Promotions, 89Q Radio Station, and Liberty Counsel. His giving extends into direct ministry, where he has taught Sunday school, spoken at men’s conferences, and participated in clinics. He has also served through Therapy Dogs International, visiting sites with certified therapy dogs to bring comfort to others.

Faith and family remain central to Matthew’s life. He is a devoted father of four children, one adopted daughter, Israella, and three biological children: Islah, Irena, and Ilias. His Christian beliefs shape his values, guiding his work, service, and relationships. Family time is treasured, often spent outdoors hiking, biking, camping, and exploring national parks. He continues to volunteer in church and community initiatives, embodying the principles of grace, compassion, and love in his everyday interactions.

Outside of his work and family commitments, Matthew Deets of Wausau remains an active individual. He has completed numerous races, including 5Ks, 10Ks, a half-marathon, a full marathon, and a triathlon. He participates in a road cycling club and enjoys mountain biking, viewing physical activity as both a discipline and a grounding practice. His love for travel is equally strong. Before the age of 30, he had already visited 10 countries, among them Venezuela, Jamaica, Germany, France, Italy, and Malaysia. Travel continues to be a part of his family rhythm, with visits to many national parks. His personal goal is to visit every national park and every professional baseball stadium across the country.

What sets Matthew apart is not the titles he holds but the consistency of his purpose. He does not seek recognition but instead focuses on being someone others can depend on. He offers steadiness in times of crisis, structure in moments of confusion, and encouragement when it matters most. In therapy, coaching, leadership, and family life, he continues to embody his purpose of helping others take their next step forward. His Impact may not always draw the spotlight, but it is profound, enduring, and deeply human.
